Cervical Discectomy (Endoscopic)

Cervical Endoscopic Discectomy is an outpatient surgical procedure to remove herniated disc material. Cervical Endoscopic Discectomy uses spinal probing of the annulus through the antero-lateral approach under X-ray guidance to obtain patient feedback and so identify the causal level requiring treatment. Wherever the feedback from more than one level overlaps then Differential Discography is employed.

After the surgery, patient will still retain approximately 90% of your disk and it will not diminish significantly in height. Most patients feel immediate relief from pain following the surgery. Walking is permitted the same day and the patients are discharged from the surgery center that afternoon.

Following your discharge, a physical therapy program near your home is recommended. Little, if any, postoperative medication is required for most patients. Normal activity can usually be resumed within 1-6 weeks after the Cervical Endoscopic Discectomy surgery.
